Tagging Speed

Standard CWT - Sustained tagging rates of 800 per injector hour are typical for Mark IV production tagging of small salmon and striped bass. Tagging with a hand held Multishot injector is about half as fast.

Sequential CWT - Similar to Standard CWT but the tag "filing" process (requiring saving the two tags located immediately before and after the individual or identified group) slows down the tagging process. Tagging speed is slowest with individual identification and increases with increasing group size.

VI Alpha - Sustained tagging rates of 100 per hour can be achieved.

VIE - Sustained tagging rates of 600 tags/marks per hour can be achieved with the air injection system.  Hand injection is about half as fast.
