Abstract

Tadpoles can be marked with extremely low mortality by anaesthetizing in low concentrations of TMS and injecting fluorescent elastomer subcutaneously. Mark retention is less than 100% but still acceptable for many applications. The marks appear to have little or no effect on tadpole behavior and viability.
